Losberger De Boer
Frameless is the UK’s leading creator of immersive art experiences. Their 2025 production, Stories – Brought to Life, was a ground-breaking collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery that brought some of the collection’s most celebrated portraits to life through cinematic digital projection, Hollywood-style visual effects, and immersive audio. Figures including Winston Churchill, Malala Yousafzai, Nelson Mandela, Emmeline Pankhurst and Amy Winehouse were reimagined in full multi-sensory environments.
The experience opened at MediaCity in Salford Quays, Manchester in May 2025, running until the end of August before a national tour. Set within the open-air Piazza at MediaCity, the project presented a unique and technically demanding set of challenges from the very start.
This was one of the most technically complex builds Losberger De Boer has delivered. The structure needed to transform an open courtyard in a busy mixed-use destination into a completely self-contained, pitch-black, acoustically sealed immersive environment — housing high-powered projection systems, extensive speaker rigs, and thousands of daily visitors, all while blending into a public space surrounded by offices, restaurants, and pedestrian areas.
The requirements were exacting: total blackout, full sound deadening, uninterrupted power supply for the projection and audio technology, and fully accessible entry and egress including wheelchair access. It also needed to be safe, secure, and visually coherent with the Frameless brand from the outside. Getting it wrong wasn’t an option.
Our brief from Losberger De Boer was to capture the story of how they solved it: the challenges, the engineering, the team coordination, and the finished result.
We produced a hero case study film that tells the full story — from the logistical complexity of the build environment, through to the technical precision required to deliver a structure capable of housing a world-class immersive experience. The film communicates both the engineering challenge and the human effort involved, putting Losberger De Boer’s problem-solving capability front and centre.
The social content package included punchy LinkedIn cuts focused on the technical achievement, and Instagram Reels capturing the visual contrast between the urban setting and the extraordinary structure built within it.
The Frameless case study is one of the most distinctive pieces in the Losberger De Boer content portfolio precisely because it shows the breadth of what they can deliver — far beyond the events and hospitality sector. A structure that is part engineering solution, part architectural achievement, in a demanding urban environment. The film makes that story accessible and compelling for any client facing a similarly complex brief.
